More healthy food choices in school (school article)
These articles were written during the length of Nicole's course on miscellaneous topics.

In primary and secondary school, school food has always known to be scarce and boring because of the little choices. Polytechnics however, due to their large campuses and large student population would see the need of increasing the number of canteens and food choices to cater to them.

Most polytechnics however, would serve fast food and quick fried snacks because of its convenience. Seeing to how students do not get much chances to exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle, how would serving such food be healthy for them?

Thankfully, in Republic Polytechnic, there are six different parts of the school that serves a range of diverse yet healthy food to satisfy your taste buds during your three year stay.

When first entering the school, one can find a light snack store selling crepes and drinks, 7-11, and Subway. As compared to other fast food chains, Subway has healthier choices for the healthy conscious.

Walk further in and you will see the first canteen. With food ranging from Chinese, Malay, Western and even Bubble Tea, one would definitely be spoilt for choice. Light Snacks from the carts on the first floor are also available. On the second level, also known as the Esplanade, lounge on the sofas and sip on milkshakes and light snacks like fish burgers, wedges. Try their well known milk tea as well.

Another cafe that serves similar food to Esplanade is Art Bites at The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC). Chill out in the cafe’s sofas and try their Curry Ramen and Teriyaki Chicken. All sets come with Milk Tea, the same delicious ones served at the Esplanade!

Head to the lawn on the third level and you will see the school’s air conditioned canteen situated at W4, that serves the most extensive range of food, from Halal to Japanese to even Thai food! Another delicious gem here would be the waffle store. Have your waffles with your preferred filling or even with ice cream!

Want some old fashioned breakfast before heading to class? Koufu near E6 serves the delicious Kaya Toasts, Half Boiled Eggs and Black Coffee. Want something different for breakfast? They have Prata with your preferred condiments. Koufu is also opened throughout the day and serve a fanfare of Chinese and Indian Food.

For the exquisite, head to the library’s Reel Room that serves a unique fan fare of Pasta, Pizza, and Burgers. Quench your thirst with their Italian sodas and enjoy the latest music being played. Game to try something different? Try their escargots, drenched in garlic and butter; it will definitely leave you wanting more.
