Most people at the prime of their youths are still dreaming of success but meet Matthew, the boy who is actually living his dreams.

Despite being only 20, Matt has hosted the Asian Youth Games, Singapore Idol Spectaculars show, the FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup and even small scale events like prom nights and concerts.

"I'm really grateful for the opportunities to host such events and though I've had to make a few sacrifices along the way. It's about the risks I'm willing to take because some things only happens once in our lifetime. I guess its about seizing the moment and making the best out of it"

Currently in Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Media and Mass Communications, Matthew's journey in pursuing his passion for the media was initially a bumpy one.

He was first enrolled into a business course in NP but being a firm believer in taking risks for things he is passionate about, he managed to switch to doing what he loves best.

His passion for the media was sparked by his interest in being a radio producer. Hosting instead opened new doors for him.

Hosting was an accidental break for Matt. His first gig was a secondary school event which he was forced to host.

"I was 14 and I couldn't stop talking in class. I was a really talkative boy and so the teacher told me to host a school event since I like to talk so much in class."

Matt does not see hosting as a job but see it more as a fun experience for him. He also believes that experience is very important in the media industry.

More opportunities have come his way since then and there's no turning back for this bright star. He has moved from hosting to acting, writing, radio and continues to expand his horizons. His upcoming hosting gigs include the Youth Olympic Games in 2010.

He truly believes that if he can achieve his dreams now, so can everyone else who has the power to dream and believe they can achieve.

So what will be his advice for others?

"Dreams are simply reality waiting to happen. You've just got to believe in yourself and take that first step towards making it happen."
